NSEA is a member-directed union of professional educators and education support professionals dedicated to providing quality public education for the students of Nebraska. Its mission is to create an environment in which:

• Public Schools are recognized as essential to the future of our economic well being and a democratic society.
  
• All individuals employed in public education are highly valued, professionally compensated and are guaranteed their human, economic, and civil rights.
  
• All individuals have access to a quality public education that is equitably funded.
  
• All citizens share in the responsibility and decision-making process to enable students to become contributing, productive members of society.
